Intel Pentium 2117U : 2MB L3 Cache, 1.8GHz, Ivy Bridge

Another ultra low voltage Ivy Bridge processor has been released in the last quarter of 2012, the Intel Pentium 2117U processor. This Third Generation dual-core processor comes with  Intel HD Graphics which has the ability of playing high definition movies and low resolution games with ease; DDR3 Memory Controller; Enhanced Speedstep and Thermal Monitoring. Since this is an entry-level processor, it does not support Hyper-Threading, Turbo Boost, AES, Virtualization (VT-x and VT-d), Trusted Execution or Intel Quick Sync. This ULV processor also supports 64 bit technology.

The Intel Pentium 2117U dual-core processor runs at the clock speed of 1.8GHz. It has 128 KB L1 cache, 512 KB L2 cache and 2MB L3 cache. Moreover, this ULV has a Thermal design power of 17 watts which makes it compatible to laptop PCs ranging from 11 inches and above. Since this is manufactured using 22nm technology, it is expected that it utilizes power much better than the 32nm technology.

Regarding its performance, this Intel Pentium 2117U dual-core processor is more powerful than Sandy Bridge Intel Celeron 847, AMD E2-1800, and AMD E1-1200.
