The Gateway NV57H57U features a Second Generation Intel Core i5-2430M dual-core processor which is commonly seen on mid-class core i-Series notebook PCs. The Intel Core i5-2430M is created on the Sandy Bridge architecture and clocked at 2.4 GHz but since this processor supports TurboBoost Technology it can reach up to 2.7 GHz when 2 cores are active and 3.0 GHz when only 1 core is active.

This Sandy Bridge processor offers Hyperthreading Technology to handle 4 threads at once for improvement in performance of up 20% more. The Core i5-2430M processor supports many of the instruction extension but it does not support AES, VT-d, and Trusted Execution functions. The Core i5-2430M processor offers an integrated graphics card dubbed Intel HD Graphics 3000 which is faster than the older Intel HD Graphics controller.
