Toshiba Satellite C655-S5312

The Toshiba C655-S5312 sports 15.6-inch LED-backlit TFT-LCD high-definition widescreen display with TruBrite technology and 1366 x 768 resolution and supports 720p content at 16:9 aspect ratio. This Toshiba C655-S5312 is equipped with Intel Pentium processor B950 which features a 1066MHz system bus, 2MB L3 cache and 2.1GHz processor speed.

The Pentium B950 has an integrated graphics controller dubbed Mobile Intel® HD Graphics which is adequate to display High Definition content, but it doesn't consists of 3D acceleration and advanced video features which is kept for more costly Core iSeries microprocessors. The integrated graphics controller has 64MB to 1696MB dynamically allocated shared graphics memory.

The Toshiba Satellite C655-S5312 is also packed with 4GB DDR3 1333MHz memory which is upgradable to 8GB, 320GB Serial ATA hard drive at 5400 rpm – usually found on entry level laptop like this, and multiformat DVD±RW/CD-RW drive with double-layer support.

This Toshiba Satellite C655-S5312 also has built-in webcam and microphone built into LCD bezel; Memory Card Reader; 2 USB 2.0 ports – it is much better if it has USB 3.0 port; built-in high-speed wireless LAN with support on 802.11b/g/n technologies; Ethernet LAN; and 48Wh, 6-cell battery.

The Toshiba Satellite C655-S5312 runs on Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Edition 64-bit operating system. It weighs just around 5.3 lbs. and measures just 1.6" thin. This Asus X54H-BD1BH is available at about $330.

Illustration below shows the PassMark Rating of Pentium B950 compared to other processors. The higher the PassMark Rating the better the performance.

In terms of processing power the Intel Pentium B950 is more powerful compared to AMD E-350 and E-450 APU but slightly out-performed by AMD A4-3300M APU. But on the graphics side, the AMD APUs are much powerful compared to Intel Pentium B950.
