HP updates its HP Slate 500 with HP Slate 2

This new tablet from Hewett Packard targets business and vertical markets such as education, healthcare, government and retail. The HP Slate 2 has been updated with new processing hardware and extended mobile connectivity. Just like its predecessor, the Slate 2 features an 8.9-inch screen with 1024x600 effective resolutions. The capacitive touch screen of Slate 2 works with input from either fingers or a compatible stylus, and this is multitouch capable. You may use the optional stylus to write on screen, and utilize Windows' hand-writing recognition or in combination with note taking application for mobile devices like the Evernote.

The HP Slate 2 Tablet PC comes with an Intel Atom Z670 processor with mSATA SSM technology to provide faster boot times, enhanced battery life of up to six hours and improved performance for business consumers. The HP Slate 2’s Intel Atom “Oak Trail” Z670 processor has a clock speed at approximately 1.5 GHz. Furthermore this tablet has a 64GB mSATA drive as well as a SD Card slot for extra storage. This tablet has the same 3 megapixel rear camera just like the Slate 500 but it comes with a front-facing camera for video conferencing. The Slate 2 has a battery that is good for 6 hours of use. It also comes with two USB 2.0 ports and an HDMI connector. The new HP Slate 2 runs with full version Windows 7.
