AMD A6-3400M Quad-Core APU

Another Accelerated Processing Unit from AMD is the AMD A6-3400M. The AMD A6-3400M, codenamed Llano is a quad-core processor for entry level laptops. This APU features an integrated Radeon HD 6520G graphics card. The AMD A6-3400M processor core has a base clock speed of 1.4 GHz and is capable of automatically overclock to up to 2.3 GHz, thanks to the TurboCore Technology.

The AMD A6-3400M will overclock depending on thermal aspect and used cores, the chip will sense the temperature if the processor can withstand the thermal condition of the chip and will automatically overclock or speed up when the condition is met. When compared to the AMD A6-3410MX, the AMD A6-3400M gives a lesser base speed and also a lesser TDP rating which is good to prolong the battery usage. The AMD A6-3400M processor supports memory up to DDR3-1333 and LV DDR3-1333.

The AMD A6-3400M Llano APU comes with an integrated DirectX 11 capable graphics card with a maximum of 400 cores. The AMD Radeon HD 6520G integrated GPU in the A6-Series APU typically offers only 320 cores at 400MHz. This integrated GPU has no dedicated memory and also is not able to use the integrated cache. Moreover, the AMD A6-3400M APU also features an integrated UVD3 video processor to completely decrypt most High Definition videos like H.264, VC-1, MPEG4, etc. This incorporated GPU can be employed for 3D graphics acceleration wherein the GPU can achieve the same level of performance as discreet class graphics cards. When this feature is used for other applications other than graphics related one, the collective performance of 320 shaders on the AMD A6-3400M APU will significantly surpasses the performance of 4 CPU cores. The AMD Radeon HD 6520G integrated GPU offers no dedicated graphics memory - shared memory graphics card, and is consequently sluggish than similar Radeon HD 6000M series cards.

This AMD A6-3400M is appropriate for laptops with 14 to 15-inch displays because of the 35 Watt TDP of the APU together with the integrated graphics card and memory controller. The AMD A6-3400M APU is manufactured in a socket FS1-compatible PGA package.

The illustration below shows the processors' performance in terms of PassMark rating. The higher the rating the better the performance.

Below is a list of other processors' rating as compared to AMD A6-3400M APU. Again the higher the rating the better the performance.

This is a great article showing details of how these processors work but if i may ask, how did you get the actual values?
