HP Pavilion g7-2251dx VS. Toshiba Satellite L855-S5309 which worths the money?

This holiday season Hewett Packard and Toshiba reveals one of their affordable yet powerful laptop PC in the market, the HP Pavilion g7-2251dx and Toshiba Satellite L855-S5309. Both laptops can be had at the price of $400. They have different size, the first one, HP Pavilion g7-2251dx, has a display size of 17 inches which is good for those who like watching movies on their laptop and matched with a powerful discreet-class GPU called AMD Radeon HD 7640G. The Toshiba Satellite L855-S5309 laptop PC on the other hand is equipped with 15.6-inch display size which is matched with integrated GPU called Intel HD Graphics. Well, if you like to watch movies with your laptop, it is better to choose the HP Pavilion g7-2251dx because of its larger display and powerful GPU.

With regards to CPU, the HP Pavilion g7-2251dx comes with Ivy Bridge Core i3-3110M with 3MB level 3 cache while the Toshiba Satellite L855-S5309 is equipped with AMD A8-Series A8-4500M with 2MB Level 2 cache. On this side, the Toshiba Satellite L855-S5309 is quite powerful than HP Pavilion g7-2251dx, but this is almost negligible.

In terms of hard disk capacity, the  HP Pavilion g7-2251dx comes packed with 500B while the Toshiba Satellite L855-S5309 is packed with 640GB. On this side the Toshiba Satellite L855-S5309 won the game but not that much. The table below compares the specs of the two laptops side by side.

As you observed, the HP Pavilion g7-2251dx is a must buy between the two because of its powerful processor and graphics controller. For those who like watching movies with their laptop and do some computing with it, this laptop PC is for you.

You have the descriptions back to front. In the text you have the Tosh with the AMD process and the HP with the Intel. In the table - which I think is correct - you have that reversed. You might want to change this.

By the way, I have not tried the Tosh, but have the HP. The fan is noisy and almost always on and it runs hot. Not a problem, but just to be aware of. The keyboard is great. I replaced the hard drive with an SSD and upgraded to 8GB of RAM. Under Win8Pro this machine is super fast.
