AMD E Series E-300 APU

Another Accelerated Processing Unit (APU) coming from AMD is the AMD E Series E-300. The AMD E-300 is the upgraded version of the single-core AMD E-240. The AMD E-300 APU is consists of two Bobcat cores which means that the new E-Series APU are all dual-cores. The CPU clock speed is down by a bit compared to E-240, it has a clock speed of 1.3GHz compared to E-240’s 1.5GHz but we all know that the clock speed is not the only basis to measure the overall performance of a CPU but also some other things like the number of core it has.

AMD E Series E-450 APU

The AMD E Series E-450 is an Accelerated Processing Unit based on Brazos Platform. The AMD E-450 supersedes the AMD E-350 and offers a higher clock speeds. There is a slight increase in terms of clock speed between AMD E-350 and E-450 from 1.6GHz to 1.65GHz. On the other hand the 80-core Radeon HD 6320 GPU glides up from 492MHz to 508MHz, not that great improvement though. What is good with AMD E-450 is its AMD Turbo Core technology. This means that the GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) cores in the E-450 can turbo up to 600 MHz, this means that the AMD E-450 can be up to 22% faster than the E-350.

Another laptop coming from ACER which is powered by AMD Accelerated Processing Unit is now available in the market, the Acer AS5250-0468.
